What We Do
We help cities adjust their regulations to achieve their planning goals and objectives. This can often be achieved with small incremental code adjustments, but more work may be necessary in other cases. Reworking several interrelated pieces of code can successfully shift a community’s development paradigm.
As an accredited new urbanist, Justin is well versed in the design principles that create memorable, walkable, people-oriented urban spaces and places. As a certified planner and floodplain manager, he recognizes the opportunities and tradeoffs involved in the integration of many different elements – to include project finances, transportation access, utility infrastructure, green spaces and sustainability – that can create better community outcomes.
As a representative of the City of Austin Public Works Department, Justin served on an interdisciplinary team that tackled a major code rewrite to better align with the City’s recently adopted Comprehensive Plan. Later, in his role as Planning Administrator for the City of College Station, Justin led several incremental ordinance revision initiatives to help streamline the development processes, reduce parking minimum, and increase housing diversity to better achieve city goals.
